You are more important than your current venture or position at work. It's time to position yourself as a stand-alone brand with resources in place to help you not only with good design, the right messages and the technology but to also represent exactly who you are.

1) Know your craft: Simply put, you want to be an expert at what you do. Read books about what you're wanting to offer your customers or audience. Continue taking piano lessons if you're a musician; take math courses at the local community college if you're an accountant; and read website building blogs if you're a web designer. Whatever your passion, keep learning it and KNOW IT WELL!
2) Create a Good Tagline: Your tagline is what describes you and your offerings. It answers the question: Who are you? What do you do? and Why should I care? You want it to be short, memorable, and comprehensible.
3) Get a website (or at least a splash page)*: Everyone is online! When fishing for information about anything from the latest news to household products, people will go to the internet FIRST! If you or your business is not present, you're essentially non-existent. You want to be seen? Get online!
